Vung Tau - Mui Ne Inland

Distance: 330 kms

For a great ride in the mountains and finish at the beach this is my favourite day out of Vung Tau. An early start is recommended to do this map in its entirety but drop (G) to cut it back to 45 km off the day if short on time.

From breakfast at the Twisted Throttle Tavern (A & B) take you along the newly developed back beach and out of town.

(C) Is a great first stop for the day before you leave the coast. Some other great water stops but not back to the coast until you reach the night stop.

(D) The morning coffee stop. A reminder that from this spot into Lagi traffic police are quite active so watch your speed in that area.

(E) A great local restaurant. Nice people but no English. Easy to just point at photographs of what you want though, done nicely around the restaurant.

(F) The first lake viewpoint. Much of this lake now covered in solar panels. xt

(G) The ride to this dam wall is great so don’t miss it if you have time. The photography around the lakes system is exceptional.

(H) Is just a service station pinned to take you through some impoverished farmland village areas. A nice area to treat some local kids to a sweet. Something they would rarely experience. Lolly pops in the tank bag is my favourite for this.

(I) My favourite accommodation. Great people, great pool, cheap and Pho straight out the front for breakfast. Also right in the heart of the best dinner options. Even has a resident Iguana.

Mui Ne is a beach resort town but if you want beach access book accommodation on the beach side of the esplanade. Public access is otherwise limited. It’s a popular destination for kitesurfers with good winds right through the dry season.
