For expats and locals alike. There’s a few transportation options used to start and continue through your day. To the beach, to the gym, getting your child to and from school or going to and from work there are choices. Choose wisely!

My choice and the most common and certainly the most convenient and cost effective option is riding your scooter or long term rented scooter. With an adequate helmet statistically so long as you’re a capable rider, safe and time efficient.

Driving your car or in your car with a driver. Very safe but much less cost effective. Not so time efficient if driving yourself but can be if working online with a driver throughout the journey.

Taxi or Grab Car is still fairly safe but even less cost effective. Again can be time efficient if working online whilst on the road.

Grab Bike is where it gets interesting. Reasonably cost effective. Some time inefficiency and certainly the least safe. I have never in 13 years used a Xe Om of any kind. I can’t imagine the anxiety, sitting behind a random rider on a random bike. No idea of the riders ability, no idea how the bike has been maintained and given a hat to wear that is not adequate, not correctly fitted and been on the heads of hundreds before me. I’d be itchy all day and nervous during the ride even if I did get there in one piece.

Each to their own but I don’t understand how a multi national company gets away with putting a paying customer at this level of risk. Not for me or mine that’s for sure.

If you aren’t comfortable riding at the very least if a Grab Bike is your chosen mode of transportation get your own comfortable, correctly fitted and ride safe affective helmet.
